Relationship Between Peer Mentoring Support and Novice Nurses Intent to Stay in the Field

Recruitment Flier: Invitation to Participate in Survey

All Nurses:

I am a doctoral student in the School of Public Service Leadership at Capella University, and I am conducting a study for my dissertation, titled “The Relationship Between Peer Mentoring Support and Novice Nurses Intent to Stay in the Field.” I am seeking your input on this subject. Participation is completely voluntary. You are invited to be in the study if you are:

• 18 years or older and you are working as a Registered Nurse for no more than 12 to 18 months continuously.
• Had peer mentoring support (i.e., you had a special type of peer support relationship that affords graduate nurses in transition psychological support such as: establishing trust, careful listening, showing concern, and receiving affirmation and feedback. This type of support also affords friendship, teaching, modeling, use of reflection, and sharing of past clinical and nursing experiences).
• Had at least one peer-mentor during your first 12 to 18 months of employment as a RN whom you feel provided emotional support and work-related guidance as described in the above paragraph.

If you meet the description above, you are eligible to be in the study. The survey will take no longer than 20 minutes to complete, and access to the survey will remain available until the maximum number of participants is recruited (about 14 days).

Please be advised that your responses are anonymous. All documents will be maintained confidentially and securely. The Institutional Review Board of Capella University must grant approval for this research study before the survey begins. To complete the survey, simply click on the link below.
