Relocating to the USRating: (votes: 0) I can't start working on my papers for nclex if I don't know what states I'm applying for a RN license. It seems that Georgia is inexpensive to live. I hope anyone can give me some information and advice of choosing a state for RN license. Last edit by Bethrod on Jun 1 I think the first step would be: what will your visa status be and will you have work rights? Will you be able to get a social security number? I would then suggest going to the BON website of any state you're interested in and see what their criteria is for allowing foreign-educated nurses to sit for the NCLEX. As a foreign graduate you may have trouble getting into a new graduate residency, but you may want to contact them directly to see.Oh, and avoid California completely. Comment:
Visa is not a problem. I'm married to american citizen. We just don't want to live in a cold state like Mennisota. He is from Mennisota. I don't want to live there because of the climate. Our big concern is for me getting a job in the US. The license is good for one state only. I know there are state that accepting license endorsement.
