Cultual Awareness Interview

Hi! I need help! I need to ask 10 questions to a nurse from a culture other than American. I'm in RN-BSN transition program and this is an assignment. THANKS!
I am assuming that the purpose is to gain perspective on the health beliefs of other cultures? What about - How do you deal with the issue of whether or not to inform a patient that she/he is terminally ill? What types of things are family members expected to do for a hospitalized patient? How often do you change IV tubing & indwelling catheters? (some countries do not have the luxury of 'disposing' of things like we do) Are there any gender-based restrictions on providing care in your country? Do a lot of your patients have strong beliefs in folk-medicine? If so, what are they? Are certain types of foods recommended for different types of illnesses? Pregnant women?I am sure you can think of more - have you had a chance to read anything by Giger & Davidhizer on multicultural care & health practices? It's very interesting stuff.

Wish you'd specify the questions. Have worked with Native Americans and Latin Americans a lot.

My dear, I'm afraid you will have to do your own assignment. Nursing is all about creative problem solving and using your brain. As nursing program assignments go, this one doesn't sound too hard.
