I am moving to florida from georgia. Can I continue to hold my georgia license? I do not plan on practicing in Florida in the next 6 months. Do I have a certain time frame to apply for a Florida license by endorsement after moving? I am kind of busy with the kids and I have recently had a 3 level ACF surgery and still in horrible pain, so like I said, Im not planning on practicing in Florida for awhile. Thanks for any help with my issue.
You can keep your Georgia license active as long as you want. You can get your endorsement whenever you want as well. FL can take up to about a month to process though, so when you do decide to get it, give yourself some time.

Thank you very much, I was unsure if I could keep a Georgia license without living in georgia. And thank you for the information about Florida license. I will make sure I start well before I plan to go back to work.

At one point, I had active licenses in 3 states. As long as I kept paying, they didn't care where I lived. It may be different with the 'compact' states, but don't let a license lapse unless you have another that is active.I am now only holding my current state.

I dont want to let my Georgia license go, I plan on going back there one day. We only moved because my husbands job required it. I hope to go home one day.

I have active RN licenses in 7 different states at this time. I am a traveling Rn, as long as you pay for the license they will keep giving it to you. Just FYI I do have my license in both FL. and GA. FL. can take up to 3 months to get and is expensive, think over $200. I would apply as soon as you can if you want to get a job.
