New grad job hunt after taking time off

Hi, I've taken the past couple months off but I'm ready to start job hunting again. Basically, I worked for about a month, new opportunity came along, resigned, but shortly after I went through a personal loss and my plans fell through. I'm looking for some advice when filling out job applications. I'm reluctant to include details about my loss unless it comes up in an interview...so I'm trying to decide what would be best to say when applications ask reasons for leaving. I could put new opportunity but my problem is that my employment history says otherwise which would make me look dishonest or seem unreliable...any advice??
Do not even tell them you worked. Say you had to take time off due to death in the family, which you have resolved (probably a better way to say it) and you are now ready to begin your career. Since you were there such a short time, do not even list it on your resume. (Unless it is a government job, then you have to list them all). You can dates for that time and list it as "Postponed new grad search due to death in family. Resolved and I am ready to truly begin my career." Just an idea.
