Anyone work for the VA?

I recently received a tentative offer within the VA. It has been about 2 months since my initial interview and I am finding that the initial onboarding process is quite lengthy. Once I am an official employee, I am wondering how difficult it is to transfer to another VA Medical facility in a different geographical location. Will the process be equally lengthy? Is there a minimum amount of time you are required to work before attempting such a transfer?
