At what point did your edu ruin it for you?

1 At what point did your knowledge ruin suspenseful, cops and bad guys, westerns, etc. movies for you? This came up in a conversation with a friend of mine yesterday.

Went to see a movie a while back, but really this has been so for a long time now. Anytime someone gets shot, stabbed or otherwise in a movie or on TV, I'm all "Come on, you are so not dead, get up!" -- unless there's brain matter. This totally ruins old westerns etc. for me too. "Really? that arrow did not just kill you instantly" Sure, yeah, you're gonna die eventually, because you probably perfed, BUT, you could have got another shot off or saved your girlfriend... (wimp) I am totally not fun to go to movies with!
LOL yeah i especially hate those drama tv shows. I don't know what hospital Hawthorne works at but I will not be putting in an application there.

I was never one for violent movies, but after working years in the SICU and being up close to pain and suffering, I just don't find the entertainment in those sort of movies anymore.

Mistakes and errors in the TV shows don't really bother me. When I watch TV, it's purely for entertainment. Even those corny reality shows are my escape from my own reality. What does annoy me to no end are scenes where the person running from the killer trips and falls. UGGHHH! When are victims going to stop tripping and falling????

Hahah what do I know I watched Nurse Jackie yesterday))

Pretty much the minute I started learning was the minute those shows started getting ruined. The further along I got in school, the harder I started rolling my eyes. Now that I've been working, it's progressed from eye rolling to yelling at the screen "Oh, come on!"I swear. It's like a lot of shows don't even TRY to get it right. Some are close, and I appreciate the effort, but some are just out of left field.

watching CSI the other night, they are trying to get a kid to tell where he had sent someone. Told him he had a PE and because of all his other injuries they couldn't treat it and he was about to die. I went WHAT! and yelled that's not true..... my daughter was just shaking her head. Even she knew the cop was just trying to get the kid to talk... soon as he talks, the doc walks in and says your blood work is fine and you can leave. Kid goes "what about me dieing?" Cop throws his arms in the air and says "its a miracle!"

I hate HawthoRN and can't believe it got renewed for another season. And don't you love it when a woman falls a little tumble and automatically miscarries?

I was watching a show where this person was explaining how oxygen binds to iron in hemoglobin in a very scientific and arrogant way... The show was trying to make the character seem like a "smart a$$" to the TV audience but it kinda didn't work for me. I was like meh whatever. I would have probably been impressed with the character 3-4 years ago, but now, not so much. Education ruined it for me!Whenever I watch something, I make sure that it's within the fantasy genre not something that is trying to emulate real life. That's why I love anime. I sound like a nerd.

I hate when characters have multiple life threatening injuries and they are able to get this nice long speech out before they dramatically roll their eyes and die. It really does take away a lot from a movie.

Long before nursing school.... sort of like knowing the bad guys are going to have really, really bad aim, even if they are a few feet away with a machine gun. Don't need to go through boot camp to know the only commentary that deserves is "it is a mooo-vie."I know what you mean, though, I still get annoyed though about the stuff the editors should have caught - Tuvok really, really, really would have known that was the temporal bone, not the parietal bone.
