I have an associates RN degree and I want to be a Nurse Practitioner, is there any school where I dont have to get my BSN first, Thanks
I am not 100% sure, but check out the Univesity of North Dakota. I looked into that option before getting into my current BSN program. That was a while ago, though.

There are programs that have a RN - MSN..but they always require a bsn in the middle, basically you take the credits to have a bsn but you dont stop taking classes. Just an example: http://www.drexel.com/online-degrees...dge/index.aspx

I have looked into University of Cincinnati, they have an ADN to NP program. They require some classes but you don't have to get your BSN. I think Xavier also has a ADN to masters program, but I'm not sure how it works.

You can't get around the BSN if you want to do advanced practice. There are "ADN to NP" programs, but the BSN curriculum is a part of all of them. So, you can do that, or you can get your BSN and have more options for where to do your NP after. Either way, you're going to have to put in the work.

Comment:
RN to MSN programs all require you to do the BSN coursework. The BSN is the middle ground to the MSN. Some will confer the BSN, some will not. However, when you're searching, search for RN to MSN programs, then look to see what specialties they offer the MSN in. A nurse practitioner is an MSN-prepared nurse, and if you're having difficulty finding programs, it may be because of how you are searching.

I know that Vanderbilt definitely used to have an ADN/diploma ->MSN program, but I don't know if they still offer it.

SUNYIT in New York has a fast track, where your receive your MSN while obtaining your BSN. I am currently in that program. good luck

Loyola University in New Orleans has a ADN-MSN program.
