Does your nose run only at work?

It happened at my last place and now at the hospital. Practically the minute I walk in the door it starts. There's a/c but i's not what I would say freezing and besides it doesn't happen with a/c at home or in the car or even stores, so what gives?

Anything I can do besides meds? I'm not taking allergy meds just to get through work.
I suppose there are any number of things you could be allergic to at work. Mabye its cleaning supplies, hard to say. If you dont know what it is, I dont know what you can do except take an antihistamine, but then that can make you tired.

Comment:
used to bother me till we removed all carpeting.

Comment:
I sneeze only at work.

Comment:
I tend to get sinus infections when I am working in a clinical setting. Doesn't matter if it's acute care or LTC, if I'm working the floor or teaching. Perhaps I am allergic to nursing?

Comment:
Only when I am fully gowned, gloved, and having actually touched the seeping wound in an isolation room, will my right eye, left nostril, and or forehead start to itch uncontrollably.

Comment:
When I used to work the night shift at an LTC, I would begin to cough around 2am EVERY NIGHT. I don't know why. It was so weird. When I stopped working there, the 2am coughing persisted for about a week. But, now, I'm fine. It was sooo weird!

Comment:
I have the same issue! My boss is always like "are you sick, are you sick?" and I tell her I swear I'm fine when I'm not at work.

Comment:
Yes, I've had this issue at work. I think it might be something to do with cleaning chemicals because it mainly happens in the morning when they've just cleaned and mopped. I suppose they don't put hazardous warning labels on those cleaning materials for nothing.

Comment:
I used to work in an office, and every morning I would start sneezing about 5 mins after I arrived. I would sneeze about 10 times, and then be ok. Strange.

Comment:
Yeah... as soon as I walk through the door, my nose itches, runs, sneezes....

Comment:
The only time I get an itchy or runny nose is when I'm gloved, especially if I'm in sterile gloves, but I think my problem is psychological.

Comment:
My nose always runs when I am gloved and about to do something like start an IV, cath someone, etc. Only at the worst possible time! LOL
