GA CO or TX Which state has a higher pay rate for RN?

After nursing school I am wanting to move from Savannah, Ga and would like to start getting background information on these states and pay rates. If everyone could post what specialty in nursing they are and the pay rate for a 1st year it would be wonderful information. I'm not really sure if those salary websites are correct and real life information would be better.
Make sure you get the full picture, like cost of living, etc. Texas, for instance, has no personal income tax.

It's not the easiest to find nursing jobs here in Colorado, even with experience. A lot of nurses are moving out of Colorado to find work; it's either that or take whatever you can get your hands on. GOOD LUCK!!!

OP, you probably need to reexamine your motivation and goals and adjust them to what the REAL WORLD looks like for new nursing grads right now: few jobs, hard to get jobs, lower pay for new grads, choosing undesirable fields in nursing to get a job at all, having to move to rural areas of undesirable states for jobs, etcAlso, you need to consider the cost living vs salary, which is more dependent on what part of a state you live in than which state you live in.Quote from r.oxymoronIt's not the easiest to find nursing jobs here in Colorado, even with experience. I only know my area of Co (Larimer county) and it's about 23-25 an hour for New Grads. Cost of living is higher than Tx not sure about Ga. The average price of a decent home in a decent area is about 250 thousand.

The pay in Co is much lower than anywhere else.

New grad pay is low EVERYWHERE... If you find a place that is paying a new grad high you need to check the cost of living 10 times out of 10 it's going to be HIGH!!!

GA's pay sucks. TX does too. At least in GA, you don't have to deal with that background agency (something One?) that will get you blackballed if you make too big of a stink somewhere.

Ugh! The job market is ugly in Texas AND Colorado. I have spent 6+ months looking for a quality job in Colorado, still nothing. In Texas, I went nearly 2 years without a quality job. I ended up doing flu shot clinics and other contract gigs. In Texas, sales tax is high, but its "cheap" to register your car, BUT property taxes are astronomical!!! And you pay tolls for a mojority of the highways. The traffic is bad, even on the toll roads. In Colorado, sales tax is better than Texas, but it will cost me $600 to register my year old Subaru Outback, and only about $50 less next year. The property taxes aren't as bad and there is only one toll road. The traffic is terrible!

Well, the move will put me closer to family in all three states...I thought there was a nursing shortage going on, how can there be a shortage of jobs? My mother never had a problem getting a job, she just medically retired this year....
