RN license in two states?Rating: (votes: 0) I currently have a North Carolina License. I've been thinking about moving to Virginia, but every job ask for current VA license. Can I apply for the VA License even if I still live in NC? Thanks Because VA and NC are compact states, you do not need two different licenses. You are considered licensed in VA. When you physically move to VA, you will need to apply for license by endorsment, but until you live (physical address in VA) there you will not be able to get a VA license due to the compact aggreement. Comment:
Hi Kurious Rn,Since you hold a NC license, and that is a Compact State, you should be able to work in VA, another Compact State. That is possible if your RN license is MULTISTATE.

Thanks! Mine is a Compact State License, but I thought that I still had to pay to get an Endorsement...?
