UPDATE --- "Inefficient training at first job considering quitting"Rating: (votes: 0) [Summary: I quit my nursing home job because of inefficient training, not enough staff, too many patients, employers who didn't care, etc.] 2 days later, I get called for an interview on a telemetry/med-surg floor at a hospital!! This is the 2nd call-back I've ever gotten after applying to sooo many places for months now. ![]() And the interview is right before I take the NCLEX! lol Whoever said "When one door closes, another door opens" is completely right... Good luck to you! I think you will find a hospital setting much more exciting and very comprehensive in training! WAY TO GO!

o my... you are so right to have left. Med Surg Tele is the best way to learn the ins and outs of new nursing. telemetry is very valuable skill to have also... makes you marketable after a few years. some med surg nurses fear tele but hey... id rather be given a heads up that my patient is actively dying then find them dead when doing my hourly rounds. good luck and keep your chin up...

Great for YOU! :redpinkheI had the same "LUCK" with my first position as an LPN with a home care hospice org. BUT not the same outcome! I'm still in the job search pool right now!

Thanks so much, guys!!I have an interview one day, then the NCLEX the next day. I'm so nervous. I hope I don't bomb the interview just thinking about the NCLEX. I asked if I could interview after my NCLEX, but they're interviewing people this week only. Oh well, that's ok. I really want to work there, especially having such a bad experience with my first job. Anybody have any interview tips?I'm blessed to have this opportunity so soon. God is definitely watching over me. :]

Practice common interview questions in front of a mirror. i looked up behavioral interviews questions (weakness/strength for example). It would also probably be good to be prepared to talk about past nursing experiences and what you did right/wrong and what you learned. Also, be ready to answer critical thinking type questions about case studies. Good Luck!!
