Pediatric Hematology/oncology New Grad

Hello! So I just accepted my first RN job after recently completing nursing school. It will be on a pediatric hematology/oncology unit and I couldn't be more excited. I was just wondering if anyone out there had any advice for me in preparing for this position. Any information and advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!:heartbeat

Don't get attached and learn to leave work at work. Take it home with you and you might as well buy your self a straight jacket too. Be prepared to deal with death. I dont work with kids but I have done peds arrests and have seen some awful and traumatic things with kids and I have no problem with adults dying, but if it's a kid, for me it's so much harder to deal with. good luck.
