The you-tube comedy is funny and so true! My only concern is a lot of them are filled with foul language which is too bad because it spoils it.

This video is certainly amusing ("terrible places--like Texas!"), but it's terrifying, too. Terrifying for me, given I've been back in school for the last 3 years, taking prereqs to apply to nursing school, which I will begin in 2012. I've continued on the nursing path because I feel I'm already waist-deep in it; not time to throw in the towel. I don't feel compelled to run for the hills or choose an alternate route. (Already, nursing is a *third* career. Worth noting: the program I'm doing is practically free; it's ADN/RN, not BSN. I plan to pursue MSN down the road. I have a MS in another area.) I've heard from many reliable sources that grads from the program I'll be entering are having an exceptionally difficult time finding work. So, however amusing, the video warrants some discussion. What's the scoop, seasoned nurses and new grads? Is this dearth of nursing jobs a consequence of the economy? Will prospects pick up within the next decade? Is nursing so saturated w/ new grads that getting a job outside of po-dunk, TX is next to impossible? I know it's tough out there, but I'd like to maintain a shred of optimism that I can find work as a nurse in a few years. What's your take? Would you advise someone like me to turn on her heels?
