Public Medical Education oppt.

In the Northern IN area we have what is referred to as "Mini Medical school". It is hosted by the local medical school, and I think it is great. Every year 6 or so education sessions are held. They are free to the public and each is a great chance for the public to be educated on a variety of medical topics. Typically we have a local specialist come in, but sometimes we have specialists from out of state as well. I love to go myself. It is a great way to meet some of the specialists in the area that we refer our patients to, not to mention I learn about special things that are done locally. Website is below.. Yep. University of Washington does the same thing. They also show it on their tv station, and you can watch them online as well.

That is a great idea. It is a drive for me to get to ours (over an hour), but to me it is worth it. It would be handy for them to record it and put it online for others to watch.

Yes, UIC does it here in IL too. However, here they are meant for patients not professionals so can't count as CEUs.

The U Washington ones are for the public (generally more advanced than regular patient education, and more random topics) and don't count for CEUs either.
