Nurses don't get enough credit

I don't think nurses get enough credit for all the things they put up with let alone do. I also think they don't get paid enough either. They bust their butts everyday and most are seen more than the actual dr. is. Do you think the average salary of an RN will go up sooner or later?? I also wonder that as time goes on if nursing actually does get the credit it deserves..will becoming a nurse be harder as far as nursing school and general requirements, state boards, etc.

Any opinions? Thoughts?
I have been a nurse for 34 years and the story never changes. We are highly educatedand under appreciated and under paid and most treated like garbage by the administration. Mostof us have no pensionor health insurance when we retire,sadreally.
