primary care?

Does anyone work at a place where the RNs do primary care - meaning, no CNAs or techs? RNs do everything for patient? (adls, toileting, vitals, etc) If so, how many patients do you have? Do you like it? How does it work?

My floor has aids but I float to 2 other floor that have none.Usually I have 5-6 patients, depending on the census.It's fine. It's what I worked with from the time I left school. It really teachs you time management.I do like the fact that I can do all the assessing, I don't have to ask someone else the details about their voiding or skin.Even my regular floor we still do cares, the aids aren't expected to do it all.

I have a friend who works on a floor with no techs. When I worked in the hospital, we had aides but I felt like I did 99% of the care anyway...
