Disease Management Question re: out of state mbrsRating: (votes: 0) I was wondering if of my fellow Case/ Disease Managers have ever encountered this. I work for an insurance company working as a Disease Case Manager and I have a question regarding a member that lives out of the state that I have my license. This member has his policy with my state's plan and has retired to another state, for which I do not have a license. Would doing education with this member telephonically be outside my scope of practice due to not having a license from where the member resides? Thanks, Christy If you carry your own private malpractice insurance, check with them. I know it sounds super simple, but it seems that your liability is concerning you so that is where I would check first. It is an interesting question though, for me. Comment:
Check with the BON of the state in which he lives.
