Sample sched office daylight hours that include Sat

1 I'm contemplating jobs in clinics that are the daylight variety. 9-6 and Sat 9-3p is an example of one that I'm looking at.

When I worked in the hospital with the 3 12's I worked days/nights and it was awful for me bc they'd usually sched me to work Fri nights when that would be my weekend off so I didn't have true weekends off and I felt like I was working all the time between not having a life the days I worked and recouping that 1st day off, I vowed I'd stick to no weekend type jobs.

Another thing I learned is that in hospital setting Saturdays belonged to one week and Sundays to another so quite often you end up working a while without having off 2 days in a row. I experienced that kind of thing in LTC and having 1 day off inbetween 3 and 4 day stretches just doesn't work for me. I would have never guessed that and only found out once I was hired and stuck, so I want to avoid any situation like that.

I'm thinking since it's Saturdays only and not Sundays it wouldn't be that bad. If the Saturday worked would then mean Mondays off that would be nice, but maybe that's not how the schedule would work.

So if you work in a doctor's office or outpatient clinic that inc Saturdays what's a sample of your schedule? Thanks!

Saturdays always are the end of the week, I believe, no matter where you work. I always did weekend option and had Mon-Thurs off as I requested to do three and done

I have worked as both an LPN and then RN for 14 of the last 15 years in a clinical office setting. My first year as a nurse was spent working night shift/med surg. The crazy hours and often unpredictable schedule, were not very condusive to my then small children's happiness. I was always the sleepy cranky mom, on the back of the field trip school bus. I work Monday-Friday, 8-5. Be aware that you will take a significant pay cut (at least 10.00 hourly) in most places. If having nights, weekends and all major holidays off with your loved ones is worth it though, you will never look back. I haven't.....

Saturday is the end of the week everywhere I've worked, and with every other weekend commitment you work Saturday and Sunday next to each other, so it's one day from the previous week and one day from the following week. So for example, you might gave a schedule like this:M T SaSu Th FriM T SaSu Th FriEtc. So you do end up working one weekend day every week, but you're also working every other weekend.

I used to work for a surgeon weekdays, but off on Wednesday and only worked half a day Saturday so basically it was a good deal for me.
