Shift Work in NursesRating: (votes: 0) Hi everyone, "Have you ever wondered why some nurses take to working nights quite well yet other struggle with sleeping during the day? As part of my degree I'm looking into differences in perceived stress, memory lapses, job satisfaction, sleep quality etc. between nurses on rotating shifts and those on fixed patterns, whether days or nights. A link to an online survey that aims to answer some of these questions is below: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/TJHVXC2 'This project has received all necessary safety and ethical approvals necessary for it to be undertaken according to practices set down in Northumbria University Research Ethics and Governance Handbook' Last edit by Esme12 on Nov 8, '13 done! good luck with your thesis! Thank you; you're the first! I'm aiming for 100 nurses to participate, so if you could send the link to any nurses you know that aren't on this site, it would be a great help.

If anyone could fill in my questionnaire, which only takes 15 minutes, I would complete theirs in return (provided that I meet the eligibility criteria). It's about the differing effects of shift work. Or it they're not personally able to, could they pass it on to nurses that they work with to fill in? In around 7 weeks I've only had one reply, but it's an interesting topic so I'm hopeful of more.

Moved to General Nursing.
