Getting out of the nursing fieldRating: (votes: 0) Anyone get out of the nursing field or know someone that has? What are they transferring into? Any feedback would be great appreciative! I am dying to get out of nursing. Thinking of doing some travel nursing so I can become debt free and then move into a completely different field. Perhaps open my own business Comment:

You can search here and on Indeed and find a wide variety of answers. Everything from law school to starting a dog grooming business. The kicker is that pretty much all the skills you have specific to being a nurse are useless out side of nursing, so you have to basically start over. But that's the idea right, bye nursing, hello ___fill in the blank___.

Quote from lynds80Thanks! I'm thinking about back to human resources. The nursing career isn't what I really thought it would be. Sad..

Quote from LadyFree28You can morph nursing and human resources into being a nurse recruiter...

I see that you are unhappy in your job. Your posting history suggests that you have jumped from job to job in a short amount of time. You've been in the OR, cardiology, 'floor nursing', ambulatory nursing, and dabbled in psych. From your posts I believe you became a licensed RN in 2013. Read this article. I hope it helps. http://allnurses.com/nursing-first-j...te-938894.htmlIf not, I hope you find a career that fulfills you, and I'm sorry that nursing isn't that career. Best of luck.

I'm getting out of the nursing field within the next year. I'm going to retire and write a book about the nursing field.
