Nursing jobsRating: (votes: 0) I was offered many jobs after the age of 40.Are you sure your resume is up to snuff? Ask someone to role play an interview for you, and get your interview style critiqued. What area do you live in? Comment:
There are many women in your age bracket that are doing the same, going into nursing as a second career, so age should not be an issue. However, being an "old nurse" I am also having difficulty and not sure if it is an age issue or not. I really hope not, it is not like I plan on not doing nursing any more, but I would like to be treated that I do have a future and am future thinking. I don't know if I make the interviewer intimidated, or they are not going to get the "years" out of me that they want. I don't think there are too many people who stay at any one place of employment for 30 or more years, those days are gone. I would say brush up your resume, if there is a college career center near you see if they will assist you with this, practice your interview skills. Good luck, I think the market for RNs will remain strong, getting your foot in the door seems to be an issue for even the younger ones.
