Looking for a Casual position as a new grad in Vancouver BC

I'm a new graduate and recently moved to Vancouver from Calgary. I have a permanent position at UBC hospital in mental health that begins on May 12th and have been trying to find a casual position on a geriatric or general medical unit that I can start on as an aide or personal care attendant until I get my temporary liscence with the intention of staying on as a casual undergrad and RN but have been finding it really difficult going through recruiters. I'm not that familiar with Vancouver hospitals. Does anyone on here who is a Vancouver nurse think it would be better if I just went to the units at the hospital and gave the Patient Care Managers my resume personally? Basically I just want to work between now and May 12th but I'm finding it really difficult to find a job.
