Nursing Research how do I get there???Rating: (votes: 0) Any Master's program can take you in that direction. So, pick that one that best suits your clinical/research interests and that "fits" your educational preferences. However ... the programs that are more academically oriented will probably include more research-related activities than those that are more clinically oriented. For example, most Nurse Practitioners are not designed to prepare people for an acedemic career: they are designed to prepare nurses to provide direct patient care in the NP role. A NP can do research, but it is not a big focus of the role or of their education. On the other hand ... academic activities such as research and teaching are a big component of university faculty roles -- and of some (but not all) CNS roles. So, you will probably find more emphasis on those skills within those programs. You'll need to look at the specific programs and the courses that are required for each. You'll also need to talk to people at the particular school to find out each program's emphasis and the types of roles for which they are preparing their students. |
