Returning to nursingRating: (votes: 0) thanks thanks, Ma, I posted earlier, likewise out for more than 13 years, and so much has changed, and to realize getting acquainted with computer charting and barcoded meds, along with no preceptorship?? I've been declined even an interview at one of my hospitals; said "if you don't have recentclinical experience, within the last 3 years, don't ask for an interview!" what's a 57 yo 2 do, I still have some skills, maturity and the old give a care, that alot of schools can't teach nor holds in high esteem anymore... Jeff Comment: You need to do a Refresher Course. For the clinicals if not for the knowledge. This will give you recent experience and proof of competency that the recruiters are looking for. Brookhaven I think is one in Florida. There may be others. Call your board of nursing or the local nursing programs. You can successfully return just have to jump through a few hoops. Stay encouraged.
