Advice for nursing career

I have a bachelors degree in Psychology and am looking to go back to nursing school, however where I am right now (Amarillo, TX) for my husbands job, doesn't have an accredited nursing school that offers a BSN program (which I would want to do because I could get a BSN in the same time as an RN since I already have a bachelors). I am trying to find a job right now for the meantime while we are here, till he gets transferred somewhere new. My question is, what job can I and should I get in order to help me gain experience? Receptionist job in a hospital or private practice? Volunteer at a hospital? Just wondering if anyone had any good ideas so I could stay ahead. I am already reading nursing forums, nursing magazines, and some medical books, just to keep myself up on the field and hopefully help me in school in the future.
