Do Hospitals Pay for RN

I have two questions here. I decided to change careers entering the medical field. If I get my LPN license, are there hospitals or doctors offices that help pay for the RN license or pay part of it? I do not know much about the medical field and was told by someone that once you work in a hospital that they would assist with tuition. Another question is that I have 6 1/2 years missing in my work history (served in the French Foreign Legion) and listing it on previous applications has hurt me. I tried law enforcement and was turned down becasue they could not verify where I was during this time. How is the medical viewing my service in another country? Thank you for your time reading.
Moved to nursing careers advice forumThere may be some that will pay for RN training but that is something that you will need to discuss with and they will also more than likely have some sort of pay back scheme like 2 years sign up post RN completion
French Foreign Legion -- srsly??? It will be interesting to see how nuring compares to that experience. Hey, I don't have any brilliant advice, just wanted to say WOW! Most hospitals have tuition reimbursement as part of their benefit plans. You generally have to be employed for a specific length of time (6 mos to 1 year) and in "good standing" to be eligible. Some facilities will also flex your hours a bit to accommodate school schedules. C'mon - tell us a bit more about the FFL... riding camels? quelling rebellions? hunting down bad guys? That is just so cool!
We had to take a course in the legion to treat wounds, give IV's, stop blood loss. As to the comment of riding camels. The legion is one of the most modern fighting forces. Served in Gulf War I and US forces were quite impressed by our performance. I think becoming an RN is challenging and I can use that if I decide to return to Europe.LEGIO PATRIA NOSTRA
