I've come to realize that I will probably be waiting quite sometime to get into nursing school as I can only afford the local junior college in my area and being as I live in Southern California, it seems as though there all rather full. If you were in my situation, what would you do while waiting, after completing pre requisites? I've thought about becoming a CNA or an EMT. Which one of those two better prepare you for nursing school? I also thought about doing the LVN program and then completing my RN after that. Do I have a quicker chance of becoming an RN because of the LVN completion? I want to keep moving forward even if I have to wait to get my RN, I don't want to be idle.
I do plan on volunteering while I wait. The future I see myself in is being able to travel to other parts of the country or world and give my time this way. I'm not even sure I want to work in a hospital ~
Any replies would be greatly appreciated
