getting into nursing schoolRating: (votes: 0) I know that you need a really high GPA to get into nursing school. But i also hear that you need to have some work experience in a health care setting. I dont have any work experience...but i did volunteer at a hospital in high school...so if i start to volunteer at a hospital again would that count at some work experience? Would that give me an advantage of getting into nursing school?? thank you! ![]() It all depends on the program. Mine didn't require or give any extra points for working or volunteering at a hospital. Comment: My nursing school required that you already be licensed as a CNA before acceptance into the program and have a minimum 80% on the TEAS test.Comment: Some schools require or prefer students with experience, some don't. Look into it. Mine didn't, thank goodness, since I went straight from high school to college. But regardless, any experience is better than none even if it doesn't count on your admission papers.
