Does nursing school see your total GPA or how well you did in its required classes?

[FONT=Arial Narrow]I attended a university for about 3 years and didn't do so well there. I would like to transfer and apply for nursing school at Florida Keys Community College and fortunately I have A's and B's for the classes required to get into program. As for the rest of the classes that don't apply to nursing, I have C's, D's and even F's. Will they look at the grades in the required classes or my overall GPA? I am willing to retake those prerequisites at FKCC if I have to.
My university just looks at my required courseload GPA. I would call and talk to someone at your university to see. Don't retake classes if you dont have to (if it's not part of your courseload) most universities are now penalizing you for doing this. Good luck!
