advanced prac nursing changes?Rating: (votes: 0) i feel the same way as you. I may graduate with my MSN, FNP in late 2014. I have kids, and I'm taking the 4 year program, for my MSN. Now if I graduate late 2014, that means, we wont make it the 2015 mark. what would that mean>? will all those years of nursing Masters degree school will be useless? do i have to return another two/three years for my DNP? i am so frustrated! Comment: it's a suggestion from what I am hearing at this time. Not an actual requirement. I am in a RN to BSN program, and one of the NP's who teaches us told us there was no actual law in effect so you should be fine.Comment: People who get an MSN and become an NP will be grandfathered in. You won't be required to get the DNP.The DNP change is happening in my area. The universities are accepting their last MSN class and the full change to DNP only will be in 2012.
