TN Nurses: Will credit history be an issue?

I haven't even been accepted yet (playing the waiting game) but am trying to be as prepared as possible. Because my husband and I had three kids in three years we got behind on medical debt. Of course this is dreadfully embarrassing because of well, being in debt and wanting employment with the very people I owe money to.

Does anyone know how this is going to affect my chances of being hired? Now that the boys are older I am going to take on some side jobs to start knocking out debt, not to mention applying Dave Ramsey's principles (woo!). If accepted I only have (technically) three semesters left. Hopefully the debt will be lower and the credit higher by licensing time.

Are there any other tips you could share?
