suny for nursing

Hello everyone. Does anyone know if their are any suny schools in ny that offer a bsn degree and if so, are these programs difficult to get into and are their any waiting lists? I've been considering an associates program for some time now but thought twice about it after I made the decision that I wanted to obtain my masters in the future and figured that the bsn route would be a bit quicker. Any resxponce is greatly appreciated. TIA:spin:
I know that SUNY Stonybrook has a nursing program, I had looked into it when I was applying. SUNY Oneonta doesn't, neither does Albany. I don't remember if Rochester is a SUNY school but they have a nursing program. I'm sure if you google the SUNY schools you can find out. Good luck!

In addition to Stony Brook, Binghamton does. How hard to get into, what the wait is, I don't know.

SUNY Buffalo also has a program. That is where I started before I moved! From I understand from people who did finish the BSN there, it was not too difficult!

I was thinking about SUNY Buffalo but i live near the city and I thought it would be too far away if I go there. Initially, I was considering Hunter's BSN program but once I found out about the waiting list I said forget it. Is it easy to get into SUNY Buffalo's program? I would assume that it is pretty competitive seeing that it is a good school and all.

I got accepted back in 2003 in highschool and was automatically enrolled into nursing even as a freshman...I had a guaranteed spot b/c of a full scholarship. But things may have changed. The GPA needed back then was a 3.0 and thats what alot of people had and were able to get in no problems. UB is a tough school, but if you can maintain a decent average and do all your prereqs at UB, your chances are very good for getting accepted. If you are interested in private schools in the buffalo area, there is Trocaire, D'youville (sp?) and Daemon colleges that all offer nursing and there are no waitlists from what I hear. I have alot of friends that recently graduated or are currently enrolled there. Hope this helps! Buffalo is far from the city, but a city worth living in Extremely low cost housing, good night life and relatively easy to get around.

i will be attending d'youville in the fall... i just wanted to say that they're very generous with scholarships. i also feel like they are a bit less competitive than other schools. possibly because of the fact that they're a very tiny school with less name value than a huge school like ub. but there are so many nursing students that transferred FROM ub to d'youville because they were unhappy with their program and the size of the school so... i guess that says something? :T good luck!

Went to UB and graduated in 2008. If you declare as a nursing major as a freshman its much easier than if you wait a year- you have to have a perfect gpa practically at that point. Feel free to PM me if you have any specific questions.
