Tele nurse wants to explore other fields in nursing

Today I celebrate my 1st year of being a nurse. My first job as an RN was at a surgical/surgical step-down unit for 6 months. After which, I accepted a position as a Cardiovascular/Telemetry nurse and I've been working there since (almost 9 months now). Recently, I've been thinking of venturing to different units (ICU/ OR/ Dialysis/ Onco) but I have fears. I am in my first year of being nurse and still I have butterflies going to work. Any advice?
I still get butterflies sometimes and I am in my 13th year. I think just knowing anything can happen is what gives you the butterflies! :-) It keeps you on your toes. Unchartered waters always give me pause, but these are also great times for learning. If you feel ready for a change, you could explore it. I am seeking out changes, too...and the fear of the unknown is both exciting and a bit scary. Good luck and happy trails!
I did one year tele and am in 15th year ICU/CCU. I am currently looking to change to home health since I am totally burned out on critical care. Actually, I am also burned out on hospital bedside nursing. You being a new nurse with 1 yr experience and wanting more action, try getting into an internship. When I decided to move to critical care, I had a sort of 'adrenaline rush' addiction working in critical care and kept it for several years. Do it now because when you get older the ol' back will start screaming at you to to quit working it so hard.
