Applying for jobs as I wait for my license???

Hey Allnurses!

I took my NCLEX on Aug 30th 2011. I recieved the official letter stating I passed. My license number is not posted on NY BON yet nor have I recieved anything in the mail. I was wondering if it is safe to start applying for jobs while I wait for my license to arrive in the mail/ posted on the NY BON, or should I hold off until I recieve it?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

My class applied for jobs before we even graduated so definitely YES start applying. Congratulations!
I haven't even taken my NCLEX yet and I've been applying for WEEKS! It never hurts to get your name out there and recognized. The more jobs you apply for, the better chance you have of getting hired. Just be sure to update your resume with your license # the second you get it
