Nursing Organizations worth the ?

We (new grads) have been told that we should join a professional nurses organization but they are very pricey. Are they really worth the expense? Looking for opinions.
You are the only one who can determine the 'value' of anything - because it is all relative to what you consider worthwhile. I belong to ANA (national, state & local) because this is our professional voice in the political arena. I am an officer with my local chapter & participate in state events. Membership costs ~ $29 per month via an automatic monthly withdrawal. I also belong to NNSDO,my specialty organization (national & local) and the dues are ~ $100 per year. Both memberships come with freebies - monthly journals & access to online resources. ANA comes with membership to Mosby's Nursing Consult (online reference center) and NNSDO provides access to CE Direct with unlimited online CE. So - yeah, I think they're worth it.
