What master's besides nursing??

Hi everyone. I work in a large OR in a major trauma center. The buzz about me is that I would be good in management (not my buzz, other peoples). My question is this? What masters degree do you recommend that won't cost me an arm and a leg so to speak?? I especially want it geared toward hospitals of course. Any suggestion/mentoring would be appreciated.
You really need to go for an MSN if you want to move ahead in a hospital environment. This is really the minimum requirement for anyone in nursing management these days. Masters in other disciplines is not very helpful. However, there are a variety of non-clinical focus areas to choose from. An MSN with focus in Nursing administration is an attractive degree... if you can find one that is a 'combo' degree such as MSN-MBA or MSN-JD, these are 'golden'. You could also focus on Education (like me!) but this puts you in an education path and it doesn't sound like that is what you have in mind. You may also want to check out advanced certifications in Quality or Informatics. They take less time to obtain & could give you the boost you need. Good Luck!

If you hold a BSN, you really don't need another nursing degree if you want to go into administration or management.MBA, Master of Management, Masters in Health Care Administration, etc
Comment:
There were a lot of people with a nursing background in my Health Care Administration masters program.
