Life Care Planning (LCP) vs Nursing Informatics

I am looking to advance my career now that I have 5 years experience as ICU nurse. After several months of throwing around ideas and speaking with fellow nurses (who all seem as interested in moving into new areas) I have limited my search down to two areas:

1) Life Care Planning
2) Nursing Informatics

I really like the idea of Life Care Planning because you are involved all the way thru process. It involves other areas outside of health such as financial needs and I feel my background in business would be beneficial there.

On other hand..i am tech geek. I love computers and self taught myself to build blogs and ecommerce sites for my wife business. I always seem to become a program power user thru my career whether is was excel when i was in business or Sorian as a nurse.

Any thoughts to help me thru this process?
