Advice to Nursing school

Rating:
(votes: 2)

I am about to graduate with a bachelors in psychology and want to pursue a career in nursing. Everybody recommends me to apply for an accelerated program but my GPA is low with a 2.8 and most accelerated programs need a 3.0 to apply. Are there any other paths to becoming an RN? I have been really scared about how my future will turn out.
You can always go the generic route, but you will still need to beef up your GPA. Programs differ in how they calculate GPA for admission. Accelerated programs use cumulative GPA, but some programs compile GPA based only on your required courses. Suggest you explore all of the programs in which you are interested to find out their requirements. Then, you will be able to make a more concrete plan.
