I am not trying to be rude or nosey, but I was wondering if you guys could give me an estimate of what you make a month? How long have you been a nurse and what is your specialty? What area do you live in?
Carnac the Magnificent will make a prediction . . . you will soon be told . . . " you shouldn't be a nurse, if you're in it for the money! " I will send you a private reply.

I am not in it for the money, I was just curious.

your best bet for finding a range in the area you live will be on salary.comi've heard of different parts of the country having as much as a $10 difference per hour for new grads... considering cost of living, degree received, etcnew grads in az are pulling anywhere from 26-30/hr, if they can find a job

I'm making about $13/hour working at a daycare.... graduated in July, passed the NCLEX in August, and still trying to find a nursing job! Yup, I'm an RN swimming in cash! ;-p

Here in the Dallas, Texas area new RN's are starting out between $22-$25 depending on hospital, area of specialty etc.

First of all I challenge the people who say that "you shouldn't get into nursing if you are in it for the money" to quit taking a pay check and work for noting and then come on here and tell us how much they enjoy it. I know my family would not be in favor of it. Second, most states have different starting salaries and can be quite different from state to state and even facility to facility, but in general your looking at 20-30 an hour to start.

new grad rn -ltc/rehab: 28/hr weekdays & 30/hr weekends. i think that is lower than average in new jersey because i have a couple of friends who make more. but my benefits is excellent and much better than theirs so i am not complaining.nothing wrong with asking how much money you will be making in your career. i initially did this for the money when i first did my lpn program. but i know i am a caring person and smart enough to be a nurse so no problem there. but even if you are doing this mainly for the money and "job security", you can take care of me and my family anytime as long as you know what you are doing and act as a professional.

You need to do an internet search per what state you're in. I see RN salary differences of over $20 an hr on here. It all depends of where you work, how long you've worked and what part of the country you're in, what type of nursing ect...; so many variables.

Wichita Ks expect to get paid about 19 an hour and some change as a new grad rn. Houston tx atleast about 30 base pay with 2 yrs experience. I don't think it matters the speciality. New grads usually get paid the same

I work in the pacific northwest. New grads start at $27/hr, if you can get a job. After 18 years, I make about $42/hr (union contract).
