Agency nursing w/ 1 year experience?Rating: (votes: 0) I'm in CA and have had a tough time finding a job - I'm considering going agency to work tele/med-surg. I have a year's experience in a CCU. I keep hearing that agency nurses are eaten alive, get all the worst patients, and get no help whatsoever. I'm envisioning walking onto the floor and being presented with ten patients all needing 25 meds crushed in applesauce, who all have C-Diff and are all getting TPN. And PRBCs. And have hourly blood sugars. Can someone tell me how close to reality I am? Note - I moved to CA from MO, so I'm not sure how staffing ratios, etc. work here. Do ratios still apply if I'm not a union nurse? Thanks for answering! ![]() from what I have heard and seen, agency RN's generally get the "****" assignments... |
