Nursing has shown me that the phrase "for better or worse, in sickness and in health" in marriage vows is alive and well for many people.I see love in action in many a patient's husband or wife.

You can put a tourniquet (or rubber bands) around a container you can't seem to twist open. Works like a charm.

the correct response to a situation (any situation) does not include panic.

I don't know everything and if I did we would not need orientation

Nursing taught me I don't need to know everything just be willing to admit I don't know and be willing to learn

I have learned how to keep my (horrible) temper under control while dealing with even the craziest and cruelest of family members. Now if only I could do something about my face giving away that I think they are crazy, lol.

nursing has taught me that if something does not feel right-it usually isn't!!

Things I have learned in nursing......1) Always trust your gut instinct.2) CYA, always call the doctor with a change in pt condition, chart well.3) Develop thick skin because you will need it.4) Avoid giving TMI.
