Day Shift Jobs In Nursing?Rating: (votes: 0) It varies by institution. Not ALL facilities, or all units, are 12 hours. Ambulatory care, ambulatory surgery, case management, and sometimes psych, are often 8 hours. School nursing follows the general school day & years schedule. Comment:
PACU or ER may be a good place to look with your experience and may have 8, 9, or 10 hour shifts.
Comment:
Home health probably offers one of the most flexible schedule you can find in nursing. Not strapped down to a facility for so many hours in a day, can see 2-3 patients real quick in their homes and spend the rest of the day at home.
Comment:
Just wanted to chime in and see that some parents find that they actually get to see their kids MORE when they do 12s, because you only end up doing 3 days a week (obviously averaged over whatever your pay period is).I hate not seeing my kids for 24-48+ hours when I am doing a run of twelves. But it is SO WORTH IT, because over all, I am home more than I would be if I was doing 8s or even a traditional 9-5 schedule.
