Hi All! I have heard that beginning Mar. 31, 2017 LPN's will be required to complete 20 hours of CE's. I wanted to know if CE's accumulate or are they only good for 1 year or any other time frame?

Thanks in Advance for any and all input!!

CE requirements are dependent upon the state(s) where you are licensed. I've been licensed as an LVN in California and Texas. The California BVNPT has always required 30 CEs for each licensure renewal, and Texas has been requiring 20 CEs per renewal for a very long time.I was also licensed as an LPN in Oklahoma, a state that required no CEs until very recently.CEs do not accumulate. If your state requires 20 CEs every two years, the 20 CEs must be completed during that specific two-year period.

Comment:
Thank you for that clarification. I guess I will wait until 2017 to start accumulating my CE's.
