Nursing home vs. hospital in Nebraska

Hi everyone! I am moving to Nebraska and will be graduating with my RN degree in May. I am very interested in working in a nursing home; however, everyone is telling me that is not a good idea as a new nurse and that as a new RN, I should get as much experience as possible in the hospital early in my nursing career. Do you agree with that advice?

Also, how does pay differ in Nebraska working as an RN in a nursing home vs. the hospital? I've been trying to research it and can't seem to find much on the topic.
