I want out of pt care!!Rating: (votes: 0) Thanks! Kristin bump!! any help guys?? Comment: I was the same way! 2 years of ltc, Med/surg... i t was not for me. I took a pay cut to go to community health but wouldn't change it for the world. No holidays, nocs, or weekends day shift to be home with my kids in the evening. I'm also almost finished with my MSN in education. So there are other avenues...Comment: Do you just not want to have ANY patient contact?? Or is it the demands of shift work? caring for highly dependent patients? interaction with families? physical workload? If you can figure out what it is that you don't want - it may be easier to figure out the direction you need to go.Comment: Have you thought about Case Management? You need 2 years of experience and 2000 hours of work experience (which you probably have) before getting certified. There are courses available on-line to prepare you for the certification exam. I heard about it when I went for an interview. I believe there is not any bedside care involved in CM but take a look....Comment: WellPoint, Inc (health insurance company) hires RNs for case management. Or at least they used to. Good luck!
