Continuing Education

I am a new nurse. When I graduated my school did not give me any information on how to go about completing my continuing ed credits (i.e. what courses can be done, where to get credits, how to turn credits in, etc). I am licensed in Illinois. Any advice on where to go to find this information out or can anybody tell me what I need to do?
Thank you,
ashleynich
There are several online resources and your place of employment education dept will have info. If you check the nurse link on the IDPFR website they have information.

Hi ashley there are indeed a number of online resources, some even have free course options too! One thing you definitely want to be sure of is if they are accredited in your State. I did a quick search for you on nursece4less.com to see what your requirements are for Illinois, looks like you need 20hrs. every 2 years - reference: Does Illinois accept courses from NurseCe4Less? Hope that helps and don't worry, there are plenty of resources out there to help you through.
