ASN graduate should I join workforce or continue education?Rating: (votes: 5) ![]() I graduated May 2013 with my ASN and was let go from my orientation (they let me resign) on a telemetry floor. I moved back home (everyone needs BSN for hospital work here) and enrolled in classes for my BSN for this January. My question is would it be more beneficial to work full time in a LTC facility to gain one year of LTC experience or go back to school full time for two years? I'm just worried that after two years of no work I would lose my nursing skills. However, I don't think I would be able to go to school fulltime and work fulltime. I am currently working at personal health services doing home health, but it is very basic work. I sit on school buses with special needs children PRN in case a seizure would happen (most haven't had a seizure in years). Any advice for me? ![]() |
