What is the best direction for a nursing career?Rating: (votes: 0) Nurse Educator here (MSN-Education & Critical Care; EdD).I love my job! (non-academic nursing & clinical education). Lots of challenges, neverending variety. BSN is normally the entry point for clinical education... usually at the department level with preceptoring, inservices, BLS instructor, etc. It is just about impossible to 'break into' education without any prior experience - so if this is the way you wnt to go, get involved in department level activities. In my part of the country, MSN is 'entry level' for leadership positions in hospital nursing education. At this level, you are expected to have expertise in analyzing educational needs, designing & implementing training/education and evaluating outcomes. There is a significant level of responsibility for 'administrative' functions including developing and managing budgets. |
