Should i do private duty nursing as a lpn or go back to school an become an rn.

Hi, I am an LPN in Wisconsin, and not sure what to do. I have my npi number and sent in my application for medicaid. But not sure what to do, right now i work for a temp service and not getting enough hours, plus i would like to be my own boss, but will I do better working as i am now an LPN in private duty or as an RN. And if I do go back to school should I go for my masters in nursing or my PhD in nursing. Please help me I am lost!!!!!.
